Why You’re Here, Doing What You Do

Understand Your Gifts @ CBI

I recently hosted a Hula for the Soul mixer and meetup the evening before the start of a large conference. The intent was to provide a time and place for attendees to really connect with each other before getting caught up in the whirlwind of the conference as well as share a little bit about what Hula for the Soul is all about.

What happened was amazing.

People came out of curiosity: what’s this hula thing all about and are we really going to learn to dance the hula?
People came to shake off jet lag: many had traveled internationally and wanted to get their bodies moving
People came to network: connecting with old friends and making new ones is good for business

And everyone learned to hula!

Now that may not sound like a big deal, but when you’re trying to figure out how to live your true purpose, to find meaning in your existence and do what you were truly put on this earth to do and you do it and people participate in that, well…

It’s amazing.

It took me a long time to get here. It took some life lessons and a great loss. But I’m here and I’m answering the call. It still takes courage to get up and do this every day. I still (sometimes) wonder if people will “get” it. I still wonder if this is what I’m supposed to do.

Then I see a room full of women, each one unique in her beauty and talent, swaying and moving to the rhythm as one, smiling and expressing joy at their new “accomplishment.”

And I know it’s why I’m here and why I do what I do.

Share with me why you’re here and why you do what you do…

Yvonne I remember this event so well. Am going to show my hula-loving sister what I learned when I see her in about a week!

    Yvonne –

It was an AMAZING event! You are such a great teacher…thank you for sharing your gift with us. :) My gift — I love showing people how to live clutter-free instead of clutter-filled. It’s a great feeling to see someone’s life change right before your eyes and to know that you had a part in the experience.

Thank you for having your workshop in San Diego! I truly admire your teachings through the arts of Hula. It was something more than I was expecting. Your teachings in healing and purpose to make someone change their whole way of thinking things in life, is truly a rejuvenating factor in my life right now. I enjoyed meeting all my new hula sisters who are all powerful individuals inside and out. Everyone has inspired me and I am very happy you created a purpose to put on this wonderful workshop. I hope next time, some my own family and friends can make time to take your class. Many blessings~Mahalo Nui Loa/Fa’afetai tele lava (Thank you very much)
